Luminor Submersible 1000 M PAM 64

Panerai's Luminor Submersible 1000 M is a huge watch, with a sapphire crystal that measures 5.1mm thick. While only 500 units of the PAM 64 were ever produced, it came as an unwelcome surprise to collectors when Panerai decided to release this watch into its regular collection as the PAM 87, which is the same watch except with a blue dial and was released for series D through H (no longer in production). Regardless, the PAM 64 is a fabulous dive watch, able to withstand crushing depths.

Movement	Automatic mechanical, Exclusive Panerai OP III calibre, 13¼ lignes, 21 jewels, Glucydur® balance, 28,800 alternations/hour. Incabloc® anti-shock device. Power reserve 42 hours. Bridges and oscillating weight personalised PANERAI. Chronometer Certificate (C.O.S.C.).
Functions	Hours, minutes, small seconds, date, calculation of immersion time.
Case	Diameter 44 mm, AISI 316L brushed steel. Special helium valve on the left side.
Bezel	Brushed steel, unidirectional anti-clockwise rotating bezel with graduated scale for calculating the time of immersion, and ratchet click at minute intervals.
Back	Screw, steel, 3 mm thick.
Device protecting the crown	(protected as a Trade Mark) in brushed steel.
Dial	Black with large luminous hour markers and Arabic numerals. Steel colour small seconds dial at 9 o'clock. Date at 3 o'clock.
Crystal	Sapphire, made from corundum, 5.1 mm thick with magnifying lens at 3 o'clock. Anti-reflective coating.
Water resistance	1000 metres.
Strap	Rubber with brushed steel buckle personalised PANERAI.
